Our Story: From Toxic to Glowrious

🌿The Turning Point: A Journey to Healthier Hair

The Glowrious story is intimately linked to my personal journey. I have been on a hair-care path for 13 years, and honestly, I could write a whole book about it!

In 2011, a major empowering transformation changed everything. I realized the importance of what I put on my body, what I put in it, and even what I thought and felt.

I was called to reevaluate the products on the market and saw how toxic the ingredients truly were, from toothpaste to the shampoos on my shelf. I made a drastic decision: I changed everything for a much healthier lifestyle, including my hair routine.

🌿The Search for THE Shampoo

I have always loved my curls. I have always pampered them to find that bounce, shine, and health. When I chose this healthier lifestyle, I cut dairy, sugar, and coffee. I stopped using all chemicals on my skin and hair.

For the products with no alternatives, I just cut them out. I am a Gemini, so I am known for extreme choices—tout ou rien (all or nothing) LOL! Back in 2011, organic shops in Lebanon were rare and very expensive.

Each habit I changed was a victory. The only thing still bothering me was the “cleaning” phase. I spent so much time trying to find the perfect organic shampoo. I tried everything: olive oil soap, Aleppo soap, and even the "No Poo" method.

The truth? I missed the fresh, uplifting smell and the foamy texture. I was proud of sticking to my healthy lifestyle, but I missed my curls.

They were not happy. They had no hold, no definition, and no vibrancy. It was so frustrating! I kept trying, using ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) rinses and homemade flaxseed gels. But back then, my expertise was small. I looked for answers since 2011!

🌿 Curls Alchemy: The 3 Pillars of Holistic Care

Through those 11 years of searching, I realized that beautiful curls are a reflection of something bigger: how we care for our whole selves. This led to the 3 Pillars of Glowrious Holistic Care:

∘ Hydration - Inside & Out:
Curls crave "living water." We recommend drinking a glass of water with a pinch of sea salt on an empty stomach to help your cells actually absorb hydration.

∘ Nourishment - Kitchen to Scalp:
What goes on the body goes in the body. We swapped "poisonous" sulfates and silicones for organic nutrients like Avocado and Shea that feed your hair without toxifying your system.

∘ Stress Management -The Ritual:
Stress is a curl saboteur. We turn hair care into a soul-soothing ritual. Our products are intention-based, meaning we "program" our organic ingredients with frequencies of love and healing during production.

🌿Building Glowrious: From Passion to Mission

Until… yes. Until! That’s when I said to myself, " Why not try to go even further?
When you don't find the solution, you create a solution! We are THAT powerful!

I collaborated with a trustworthy, knowledgeable beautician friend, and we created our first shampoo. I was amazed! It made my hair feel guilt-free. It gave me back the freshness, lightness, and beautiful curls I had been missing.

I thought, why not create a full set for the complete Curly Hair Experience? And it worked! I loved it so much that I knew I had to share this with everyone on their own quest for healthier products. It was magic. Honestly, every time I use our products, it still feels like the very first time.

That initial awe inspired me to launch Glowrious. This business was born from passion, a love for curls, and a dedication to a natural, ethical lifestyle.

For those who don't know me.
I am Rita: a mother of two, a lover of Chocolate, Matte, and Sunshine. 

∘ The Sisterhood: I work closely with my sister, Jessy, an independent researcher and the creator behind our Ozonated Olive Oil.

∘ The Roots: In 2017, I founded Sacred (Smudging, Meditation, & EMF protection). In 2024, I launched Glowrious.
